I am not a friend of inbreeding because it often causes problems with the
chins health. It´s not so important always to try to breed new color
mutations or better furs. The most important thing is to get healthy babies.
Hobbybreeders normally don´t use inbreeding. Only in the commercial breeding it
is used for getting better quality of the furs.
Inbreeding is often called "linebreeding". It´s a very complex theme, but its
main interest is breeding better quality of color and fur.
When you are interested in this theme look in books about chinchilla breeding like the one from Egon
Mößlacher. Detailed informationgs about that you can get at "tips & tricks" at the point "books".
